Review of La Bamba Mexican & Spanish Restaurant

La Bamba is inarguably the best Mexican restaurant in Delray Beach, Florida. In fact, pretty much all of South Florida, with its rich family history, delectable food and drinks, comfortable environment, and pleasant staff. A restaurant that remains open late at night (11:30 am to 10:00 pm), serving delicious Tex-Mex cuisine. La Bamba is an accurate embodiment of the American dream. The history is inspiring and the food magnificent.

    History of the restaurant

Established in 1988, La Bamba Mexican & Spanish Restaurants are the embodiment of the American dream. In the early 80s, the humble Molina family migrated to the US from their home in El Salvador to secure their future.

The Molinas strived day and night, and after years of struggle, their devotion and diligence paid off as they were able to open their first restaurant in Inverrary, Lauderhill. This eatery employed most of the twelve Molina sisters and brothers. Working at the restaurant together helped the family establish an unbreakable bond with each other.

Today, La Bamba has 6 locations in South Florida, and the most prominent location can seat up to 234 people. At each of the La Bamba locations, one brother works in the kitchen while the other sibling works in the dining room. Even though the twelve siblings are separated by geography, they have only grown closer to each other in the past three decades.

    The menu at La Bamba

All six locations of the La Bamba Restaurants offer exquisite Mexican, Latin, and Spanish cuisines with ample vegetarian and vegan-friendly options. Even though you might find a few changes here are there, the overall menu of the La Bamba Mexican & Spanish Restaurants includes the following delicious dishes:

    • · Appetizers (dips, nachos, quesadillas, etc.)
    • · Fajitas (vegetable, chicken, steak, seafood, combination)
    • · Burritos (verde, el loco, steak, pepe, and more)
    • · Enchiladas (cheese, verde, crab, etc.)
    • · Salads (avocado, taco, cob, etc.)
    • · Mexican Dishes (Pollo en Mole, chimichanga, tostada, and more)
    • · Soups
    • · Combinations
    • · Spanish Dishes (Carnitas, Picadillo, shrimp scampi, and more)
    • · Steaks
    • · Burgers & Sandwiches
    • · Side Orders (guacamole, refried beans, tortillas, sour cream, French fries, rice)
    • · A la Carte
    • · Desserts
    • · Coffees And Beverages
    • · Kids Menu
    • · Desserts (flan, apple burrito, mud pie, fried ice cream)

    Specialties, amenities, and services

There is no denying that La Bamba is one of the finest Mexican restaurants in South Florida. Not only does the restaurant serve tasty food, but it also has a full-service bar with some famous margaritas. The restaurant also has a happy hour and fun Margarita Mondays.

La Bamba accepts apple pay and credit cards and is a popular choice for a casual lunch or dinner. The staff is highly accommodating and responsive. As expected, there is moderate noise that you will have to deal with while eating, but the delectable food makes it worth it.

The restaurant offers you three options to enjoy your door – dine-out, take-away, and delivery. It also has a private parking lot, where you can easily park your car /bike or opt for valet service. While dining at the restaurant, you will have access to free Wi-Fi. Although with food this good, who has time for WiFi?

Health & safety measures during COVID-19

Even though things are slowly looking up now with the availability of the COVID-19 vaccines, it's still essential for everyone to follow the safety protocols necessary to curb the spread. La Bamba Mexican & Spanish Restaurant has remained steadfast in its security protocols during this time.

It continues to enforce social distancing at all its locations. For example, all staff members at La Bamba wear masks and gloves. The restaurants also offer safe, well-spaced dining spaces to ensure that all of their customers are seated at a safe distance from each other.

All in all, La Bamba Mexican & Spanish Restaurant gets my vote for the best Mexican restaurant in Delray Beach, Florida, with a wide variety of exceptional food from Mexican and Spanish cuisines, a family-friendly ambiance, and lively and welcoming staff. It’s the ideal eatery for a quick meal as well as a small family celebration.
