Most people work hard to have a nice complexion. They may not know that the skin on your body and face is different, and what works for one will not necessarily work for the other. We all want that natural, youthful glow. Healthy skin comes from a healthy lifestyle, but it starts with taking care of your skin.

Ever since I was a little girl, my mom would always tell me to drink plenty of water and sunscreen before going outside. It's the best way to get healthy, glowing skin. Now that I'm a grown-up with kids of my own, I've taken her advice, and it has paid off in so many ways. Not only does your skin look better, but you'll also feel great inside because you're taking good care of yourself.

What's more important than looking good? Looking great! It all starts with proper skincare. There are many ways you can take care of your skin from the inside out, but today we're going to focus on some tips for achieving radiant, beautiful skin on the outside.

    1. Drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated

Drinking plenty of water is one of the best ways to get healthy, glowing skin. With a little bit of research, it can be found that people who drink eight glasses per day have fewer wrinkles than those who only consume. Drinking more also helps your body flush out toxins and maintain an even mood.

Water helps flush out toxins from the body, so they don't build up and cause problems. It also keeps your cells hydrated. Hydrated cells are more elastic, which means wrinkles form less often. It also improves blood flow by delivering oxygenated blood to all parts of the body and boosts metabolism to stay healthy and fit. If you're struggling with dry skin or looking for a way to combat aging spots on your face, drink plenty of water every day.

    2. Eat multiple servings of fruits and vegetables each day

To ensure that you have healthy, glowing skin and long life, it is important to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Did you know that your diet can actually affect the health of your skin? Eating a well-balanced diet full of vitamins and minerals will keep your body at its best while also giving you beautiful skin.

There are many different types of foods that contain these nutrients: leafy greens like spinach; citrus fruit like oranges or grapefruit; tomatoes; peppers such as red bell peppers or yellow squash; broccoli; sweet potatoes, bananas, apricots, blueberries, eggplant, garlic cloves, etc. The list goes on. Just make sure to eat some variety each day so that all necessary vitamins are being consumed.

    3. Exercise regularly to release endorphins and sweat out toxins

We all know that exercise is important for your health. However, did you know that it also helps your skin? According to research published in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, "healing wounds heal more quickly in physically active subjects."

The study found that people who exercised regularly had a better healing rate than those who didn't exercise. It's possible because of increased blood flow which delivers essential nutrients to the skin cells faster. This can help reduce wrinkles and other signs of aging too! So get up off the couch and start moving around. You'll feel better now and look younger later.

    4. Get enough sleep for your body to recover from the day's stressors

We all know that we need sleep to function, but did you know it can also make your skin look more vibrant? With the right amount of sleep, our bodies can repair themselves and release hormones that will promote healthy skin. Without enough sleep, though, these same processes slow down and eventually stop altogether. The result is a dull complexion which is not what you want.

The best way to get enough rest is by sleeping for 7-9 hours each night. Sleeping will help with collagen production, which keeps your skin healthy and youthful-looking. The National Sleep Foundation reports that not getting enough shut-eye will lead you to have more dark circles under your eyes and even cause wrinkles. But there are some surprising benefits too.

When you don't get enough sleep, cortisol levels rise, which causes inflammation and can make acne worse. If you're wondering about how lack of sleep affects your overall health, research shows that people who don't get enough restful nights will be at greater risk for obesity and heart disease as well as depression or anxiety issues.

    5. Moisturize your skin with a light, oil-free lotion or cream after bathing

Your skin is the largest organ in your body, and it's one that we can't live without. Skin moisturizer helps to keep your skin hydrated by providing a barrier between the environment and your skin. The result is healthy, glowing skin.

There are many types of moisturizers available on the market today, some for daytime use and others for nighttime use. Which type you choose has to do with what type of skin you have and what level of moisture you need throughout the day or night.

    6. Apply sunscreen every morning before going outside

Sunscreen is an essential part of your morning routine. It protects your skin from the sun's harmful UV rays and can help prevent wrinkles and age spots. Sunscreen also helps keep your skin hydrated by blocking water from evaporating off the surface of your skin when it is exposed to sunlight.

You can apply it after you wash and moisturize, before putting on makeup or other beauty products. Be sure to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays outside for a long time, such as at the beach or playing sports.

It's important to use sunscreen every morning, no matter what the weather is like. That way, you'll stay healthy and have glowing skin.  It's straightforward to forget about this step in your daily routine if it isn't necessary for where you live or if it doesn't get as hot there. If you want to maintain healthy, glowing skin, sunscreen is one thing that you don't want to skip out on.
