Meet The Sweet Dog Abandoned For Months Still Looking For Love
2024-08-31
Sandy Paws Rescue Inc., a foster-based rescue organization in Massachusetts, has revealed they're still looking for a forever home for a gorgeous dog named Blazer. According to the nonprofit rescue organization, Blazer has had quite a journey. “Blazer was one of 7 dogs ‘saved’ by another rescue down in Texas and when he was just a young puppy. Then, he was abandoned by this ‘rescue’ and left in a boarding kennel for 9 months. He is now a little over a year old, and 55lbs.” Thanks to Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. for stepping in to help Blazer, he is now on the path to finding a family to love him.
Blazer has shown remarkable progress during his time in training. Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. shares, “Blazer has been in an excellent board and train program in Texas for the past few weeks. He will be looking for a home in MA for August 12th and is available for foster-to-adopt!" They describe Blazer's temperament and progress, explaining that "Blazer is a shy and timid boy, but friendly and seeks closeness. He is gentle and sweet, and looks to his human for guidance. He is doing very well with his training program. He is learning to walk well on the leash, and responding to leash pressure. He was originally staying to the back of his crate when he began his classes, but has learned to feel safe, upon approach from his trainer, and is positively encouraged to come out now.”
“I had the pleasure of hanging out with Blazer last Friday. He is the SWEETEST, most GENTLE boy. We went to a local park full of kids, strollers, beach carts, and people. There was a splash pad, birds, other dogs, and cars. Blazer was so well behaved. Not a single reaction. He was calm, patient, and curious. He never left my side. You HAVE to meet him. One minute with him and you will melt. His eyes are so kind, and his ears are EVERYTHING….It’s like he knew he was being saved. I have fostered 12 dogs so far, and this one just has something special. It’s hard to put into words. He’s the perfect size and the best boy.” - Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. Volunteer
Blazer is described as a dog who would do well in a home with other dogs, but it's not a requirement. Jennifer Eleanor Photography, who donated her time to take photos of dogs like Blazer who are awaiting their forever home, explained a bit about her time with Blazer, stating: "He will make the BEST family dog! He is so gentle and sweet and his ears have so much personality! He has such beautiful coloring and is just overall an amazing dog."
Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. requires that anyone interested in adopting must submit an application to them. As a foster-based rescue based in Massachusetts, they don’t have a shelter location, and visits with dogs are by appointment only. Their dogs reside in private homes or kennels until adoption.
