A whole line of severe thunderstorms will be moving across North Texas overnight. The danger will continue for Frisco tomorrow morning, too, into the early hours of the day. Find out how to reduce your risks and stay safe in Frisco.

The forecast is in for all North Dallas and the weather that’s in the cards doesn’t look too good for Frisco, either. A fast-moving storm system will sweep across North Texas starting tonight into Wednesday morning.

High chance of thunderstorms, possibly severe

The chance of storms is high. Even though not everyone will have them in the DFW area, a couple of strong to severe storms are in the cards for the area around Frisco.

    What’s the level of risk?

The Dallas-Fort Worth area has been set at a level 2 threat risk for storms. The strongest ones will include hail up to the size of quarters. As the storm front moves east, the threat will end on Wednesday.

There will be isolated showers and storms this evening, so be sure to have waterproof shoes, clothes, and umbrellas at the ready. It’s not likely that the storms will cause significant damages.

What time will the worst storms strike?

North Texas will see the main line of storms passing through on Wednesday from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. Severe outcomes are very likely at that time. The storms will be pushing into Denton and Tarrant counties after 4 a.m., so be sure to take all precautions in Frisco.

    Will it be colder?

Yes, the temperatures will drop. However, the colder weather won’t last long. The cold front that ups the storm chances will be out of Frisco and all Texas by Wednesday afternoon.

Watch out for the strong wind

There will be a strong west wind developing across north Texas on Wednesday, just behind the storm front.

    Fire Danger from Gusts

The combination between the gusts of wind up to 40 mph and the low humidity level will significantly raise the fire danger in North Texas.

It is strongly recommended to avoid any outdoor burning until the warning passes.

Precautions against fires needed until Thursday

The fire alert will remain in place including Thursday because it will be quite breezy and the risks will still be high.

Stay safe in Frisco, avoid being outside tonight if you can. Tomorrow morning don’t go out very early unless you are dealing with an emergency. It pays to be careful.

Watch out for any fire signs and keep dry.
