Newport rec facilities to be closed May 6-8

The Newport Parks and Recreation Department is announcing several upcoming changes to its daily operating hours for the recreation and aquatic centers. Both of these facilities will be closed to public use Monday through Wednesday, May 6-8, for major maintenance repairs. Both facilities will reopen for public on Thursday, May 9.

Also beginning next week, these facilities will be open on Sundays and open an hour earlier and close an hour later Tuesday to Saturday. The expansion of hours will be the department’s first since re-opening after the COVID-19 pandemic. The department is hoping to reopen on Mondays in the near future.
