A disgraced former NYPD cop, forced to quit after fatally shooting an elderly schizophrenic woman in The Bronx, has found a new job working for one of the city’s police unions, The Post has learned

Hugh Barry, who was tried and acquitted for murder and manslaughter for the 2016 killing of 66-year-old Deborah Danner, is described on the website for the Sergeants Benevolent Association of the NYPD as a reimbursement coordinator.

Barry was forced to resign in 2023 following an internal review of the fatal incident , which found he “exercised poor tactical judgment.”

Danner, a writer who shared her experiences with mental illness , was shot to death after she picked up a baseball bat.

Barry, an NYPD sergeant at the time, argued he fired in self-defense.

In 2017, Barry was arrested for shooting Danner, becoming the first on-duty cop to face a murder rap since 1999.
