Pervert wanted for public lewdness towards senior woman on the 7 train: NYPD

Police from the 108th Precinct in Long Island City and Transit District 20 are still looking for a sexual deviant who subjected a 7 train rider to public lewdness late last month.

On the night of Wednesday, April 24, a 64-year-old woman was on a northbound 7 train approaching the Court Square subway station at around 10:20 p.m. when a stranger allegedly exposed himself and performed a lewd act, police said.

The pervert exited the train at Court Square and fled the station onto 23rd Street at Jackson Avenue. The woman was not injured during the incident.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect on Wednesday and described him as having a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing all dark clothing, a multi-colored baseball cap and a chain hanging from his neck. A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest.

Through May 12, the 108th Precinct has reported 23 sex crimes so far in 2024, 10 fewer than the 33 reported at the same point last year, a decrease of 30.3%, according to the most recent CompStat report. Transit crime is also on the decline in the precinct with 16 reported so far this year, 15 less than the 31 reported at the same point in 2023, a decrease of 38.5%, according to CompStat.
