‘Can You Get Out of My Face Please?’ Columbia University Activist Shuts Down Fox Interview After Tense Exchange on Protest

Fox News anchor Lawrence Jones had an interview with a protester at Columbia University come to an awkward end after the activist claimed Jewish students feeling “unsafe” on campus is a “false narrative.”
Jones reported from the protest in New York for Fox & Friends on Tuesday and found a protester who identified herself as “Lilian” to talk to.
The activist dismissed concerns about students occupying the academic building Hamilton Hall.
“I think their cause is a just cause and I hope the administration really hears their demands. I think they’re just demands,” Lilian said.
Jones asked about multiple janitors who were inside the building when it was first broken into by students. One faculty member claimed later that he was held “hostage” by protesters and not allowed to leave.
“Do you feel like it was right to hold three of the janitor workers hostage with inside of the building?” Jones asked.
“I think that’s a really false narrative,” Lilian said.
The activist continued calling it a “false narrative” and similarly dismissed Jewish students saying they feel “unsafe.”
“How do you feel about some of the Jewish students saying that they don’t feel safe here on campus?” Jones asked.
“I think that this is also really false narrative that’s being promoted,” Lilian said.
“Do you think that October 7th attack that happened is a false narrative? Do you believe that some of the women were raped?” Jones asked.
“My colleague just came back on. One moment,” the activist said as she began to walk away. As Jones continued questioning her, Lilian said, “Can you get out of my face, please?”
The activist was at near a demonstration site with signs demanding an end to U.S. aid to Israel and for the “occupation” of Gaza to end. Israel has said their strikes on Gaza will not end until the terror group Hamas is eliminated. The strikes have led to thousands of civilian deaths. Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7, killing more than 1,000 and kidnapping hundreds.
Students across the country are demanding a ceasefire and for their schools to end all ties to Israel. Police have disrupted protests in New York and Georgia . At Columbia’s encampment, over 100 have been arrested, including the daughter of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).
