NEW PHILADELPHIA − Members of the Rotary Club of New Philadelphia will place nearly 200 flags at homes and businesses in New Philadelphia for the 13th annual Salute Freedom project in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The flags will stay up throughout the summer and fall holidays and come down for the winter after Veterans Day. The fee to participate is a $30 donation to the Rotary Club to offset expenses.

Project co-chairman Mark Garrison coordinates the Salute Freedom subscriptions and installation routes. He encourages those renewing from last year or who want to become a new flag subscriber to use the online website to sign up and make their payment through a secure pay site.

Project leader Tom Police of Dover reminds everybody that flags in the Salute Freedom Project are placed only within the New Philadelphia City limits. “We have email addresses for many of our past subscribers, and they should have already received their renewal information in that manner,” Police said. “The rest of last year’ssubscribers have been sent a paper renewal form in the mail.”

Paper forms can also be downloaded from the project’s website for subscribers whoprefer to mail a check. For more information, call Garrison at 330-339-1773 or Police at 330-204-6093.
