5 Best Restaurants in Lansing, Michigan You Need to Try Before Everyone Else Finds Them
Lansing, Michigan — a city where the Grand River carves through old neighborhoods and new ambitions, where red-brick factories lean into the future and the laughter of students, families, and dreamers mingles on tree-lined streets. Here, the skyline is a patchwork: domes and murals, glass towers and corner diners, each block humming with the stories of those who never left and those who found their way back. Lansing is a crossroads — of Midwestern grit and quiet hope, of auto workers and artists, of generations who gather at tables to share more than just a meal.

This Massive Michigan Farm Market Is A Grocery Lover’s Dream With A Huge Selection
More than 200 cheeses. A soup bar with over 36 rotating flavors. Coffee roasted in small batches right on site. All of that sits under one roof in Michigan, and the roof covers about 70,000 square feet. The whole thing started as a tiny roadside fruit stand back in 1959. I love a glow-up story, and this one is a beauty.

Owners of popular Old Town diner open Good Truckin' REO Town bites
LANSING — The owners of Good Truckin' Diner never intended to let the small storefront in REO Town where the business got its start over a decade ago sit empty for more than 18 months. Turning the 850-square-foot space at 1107 S. Washington Ave. into Good Truckin' REO Bites, a smaller offshoot of the diner that moved to Lansing's Old Town in 2025, took longer than Nick Sinicropi and business partner Nora Gorman thought it would. "We never planned for it to sit there that long," Sinicropi said. "It just, times got tough for everyone. I'm really excited to open." Good Truckin' Diner relocated to The Creole building at 1218 Turner St. in Old Town because it needed more room. The 134-year-old building was originally home to The Creole Cigar Co., then The Creole Gallery in the late 1990s. The Creole Burger Bar and Southern Kitchen closed there in September of 2024. Sinicropi and Gorman have transformed the original space on South Washington Avenue into a counter-service sandwich shop with a focus on a breakfast and all-day menu. The new restaurant opened its doors on Nov. 5 and offers a menu that includes hot dogs, tacos, hoagies, soft-serve ice cream,

IV bar to be added to Gordon Commons
It’s not hard to see that Gordon Commons has been suffering. In a recent press conference held by the Gordon Commons Association Board (GCAB), the Deece’s most pressing issue was finally addressed: the wait times. Global Kitchen in particular, a popular food station noted for its fresh dishes and painstakingly slow preparation time, has lines that are often seen spilling out of the building and spiraling around the parking lot. But higher-ups have heard the cries of student discontent and, in a rare display of administrative agility, have implemented an exciting new station almost overnight. As students were surprised to discover this Monday on their routine walk into the building, Vassar has erected a fully functioning, state-of-the-art IV Bar.
