A week after Western Connecticut State announced that the school was dropping its swimming programs, the state got some positive news in the opposite direction: NCAA D2 program University of Bridgeport has announced that it plans to add men’s and women’s swimming & diving programs for the fall 2025 semester.
BHS Softball Teams Begins Sectional Play Monday
The Bridgeport High School softball team will begin postseason play on the road Monday. The Indians (5-17) are the No. 4 seed and will play at No. 1 University at 5 p.m. in the opening round of the Class AAA Region I, Section 2 tournament on Monday. The same day, No. 2 Buckhannon-Upshur will be at home to play No. 3 Preston.
