Man trapped after semi overturned in Marion Township
MARION TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WANE) — Ohio State Police are investigating a serious injury crash after an Ohio man was trapped in an overturned vehicle. According to a press release, the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a crash around 10 a.m. Monday morning. The overturned Freightliner semi was on Redd Rd north of U.S. 30 in Marion Township within Allen County Ohio.
Entertainment lineup revealed for downtown Lima's "First Fridays"
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Downtown Lima Inc. and Artspace/Lima are gearing up for a summer of fun. They have released the dates and entertainment for "First Fridays" this summer. June 7th will be the kick-off, with a special guest artist. Street artist David Zinn is known for his chalk art in unusual places underfoot. He is from Ann Arbor, Michigan, but his artwork can be seen around the world and soon in Lima, Ohio.
Springfield man pleads to charges as major drug offender
LIMA — A Springfield man pleaded guilty Monday to being part of an organized effort to bring illegal narcotics into Lima from the Dayton area. Dayron McComb, who was labeled a major drug offender for his role in bringing large amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine to northwest Ohio, entered into an agreement with prosecutors that calls for him to serve a 22-year prison sentence, with 16 of those years behind bars mandatory. He will be sentenced Aug. 19 following the completion of a pre-sentence investigation.
Minor sustains injuries in Saturday shooting in Lima
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Police Department is investigating a shooting Saturday evening. According to police, they responded to a call of a shooting in the 2200 block of Molly Avenue at the Brower Road apartments, where they located a juvenile male with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. No suspect has been arrested yet, and no further details have been released. Anyone with information should call the Lima Police Department at (419) 227-4444. Suspect in Leipsic shooting death enters insanity plea
OTTAWA — The Lima man charged with murder in last month’s shooting death at a trucking company entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity late last week. According to court records, Konner Dunklee filed a written motion on Thursday, May 16 asking the court to order an evaluation to determine his competency to stand trial. Judge Keith Schierloh approved that request the following day.
Manns selected as Belle Center poppy queen
Belle Center resident Scarlett Raylee Manns has been selected as the Poppy Queen for 2024 for Willard Stout Post American Legion Auxiliary Post 266 in Belle Center. BOTKINS — The 2024 Botkins Carousel pagent contestants have been preparing for the event, which will take place at 7 p.m. on on June 7 at Botkins High School. Eight contestants and their escorts will again be entertaining the community to kick off the beginning of the Carousel weekend.
