    Nicholas County man sentenced for felony drug crime in Fayette County

    OAK HILL, WV (WVNS) — A man from the Nettie area of Nicholas County was sentenced to prison for a felony drug crime in Fayette County.

    28-year-old Noah E. Donaldson, of Nettie, was sentenced to one to 15 years in prison on May 21, 2024, for the felony offense of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver. Donaldson pleaded guilty on April 1, 2024, and will need to spend at least one year in prison before he is eligible for parole.

    Donaldson was in a car that was involved in a traffic stop due to defective equipment on April 1, 2023 on Prudence Road near the Oak Hill area of Fayette County. The driver of the car revealed that they had drug paraphernalia in the car, and let officers look through the car.

    When officers searched the car, they discovered a small amount of what was believed to be methamphetamine, as well as scales, in a backpack where Donaldson was sitting. One bag of suspected methamphetamine, and one bag of suspected heroin/fentanyl was discovered in Donaldson’s pants after he was searched by officers.

    Laboratory testing revealed that 26 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of more than $5,000, as well as more than six grams of fentanyl with an estimated street value greater than $1,500 were found in Donaldson’s possession.

    The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crime, and Donaldson was recommended by the court to get substance use disorder treatment with the Division of Corrections GOALS program.
