Former Tennessee DB Wesley Walker commits to third school since leaving Vols

Former Tennessee defensive back Wesley Walker has committed to Michigan. He initially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal in December and committed to Ole Miss, before ultimately heading to Louisville, before again reopening his recruitment prior to the Michigan commitment.

Walker went through spring practice at Louisville before reentering the NCAA Transfer Portal .

Over the last five seasons, Walker has recorded 184 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss, two sacks and one interception in 45 career games.

He spent the first three seasons of his career at Georgia Tech, where he had 95 tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss in 22 games. He played in 23 games over the last two season, recording 89 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and the interception.

Walker’s Tennessee career ended with an injury in the loss at Missouri in November. He did not play in the final two games of the regular season, against Georgia and Vanderbilt, or in the Citrus Bowl win over Iowa on New Year’s Day.

Multiple Tennessee defensive backs entered the NCAA Transfer Portal in December, including Warren Burrell , Doneiko Slaughter , Tamarion McDonald , Brandon Turnage , Jack Luttrell and De’Shawn Rucker .

Vols open the season on August 31 vs. Chattanooga

Tennessee opens the new season on August 31 at home against Chattanooga. The Vols face North Carolina State in a neutral-site game at Bank Of America Stadium in Charlotte on September 7 and return home to face Kent State on September 14.

After back-to-back conference games on the road, at Oklahoma on September 21 and at Arkansas on October 5, separated by the first open date of the season, Tennessee plays four straight home games, against Florida (October 12), Alabama (October 19), Kentucky (November 2) and Mississippi State (November 9), with the second open date on October 26 splitting the four-game run.

Tennessee Football announced on May 1 it has already sold out its allotment of 70,500 season tickets at Neyland Stadium for a second straight season. Tennessee also has a “season ticket interest list” that is now at nearly 15,000 fans.

Early betting lines released for five Tennessee Football games

DraftKings on May 8 released early betting lines for five Tennessee games.

The Vols opened as favorites against N.C. State and Florida and as underdogs for road games at Oklahoma and Georgia as well as the home game against Alabama, according to recently set odds.

Tennessee opened as a 5.5-point favorite against N.C. State and as a 5-point underdog for the SEC opener at Oklahoma, with the Sooners making their debut as an SEC team after moving from the Big 12.

Tennessee is an 11-point favorite against Florida for the SEC home opener but a two-point underdogs at home against Alabama a week later at Neyland Stadium.
