Soldier accused of raping woman visiting Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — After a months-long investigation, a 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the rape of a woman after a night in downtown Nashville.

According to arrest documents, the victim and her friend were visiting Nashville on the night of Saturday, Feb 10. After spending time in downtown Nashville, they reportedly returned to their hotel near the Nashville International Airport around 11 p.m.

A group of people staying a floor above the victim and her friends had been to their room earlier in the evening and when the victim came back to the hotel, Timothy Glass returned and said he left an alcohol bottle behind, according to Metro police.

Glass reportedly remained in the room and the victim, who police described as heavily intoxicated, fell asleep. According to court documents, Glass sexually assaulted and raped the victim as she passed in and out of consciousness.

The victim then fully woke up and was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for a medical evaluation.

Investigators attempted to interview Glass at Fort Campbell on Wednesday, Feb. 21. He was read his Miranda rights and declined to make a statement, according to Metro police.

Officers collected DNA from Glass, which was sent to the U.S. Army’s criminal investigation laboratory, along with the victim’s medical evaluation’s results. Glass’ DNA was found in the victim’s medical swabs, according to court documents.

Glass was taken into custody Thursday and charged with felony rape of a helpless person. His bond was set at $75,000.

Fort Campbell confirmed Glass is an active duty service member Private First Class who has been at the army installation since 2022.
