The Tennessee Vols apparently haven't completely closed the door on the idea of adding a transfer defensive back to their roster.

Tennessee hasn't added any transfer players during the spring transfer window, but it looks like they're open to possibly making an addition to their secondary.

San Jose State transfer cornerback Jay’Vion Cole tweeted on Thursday morning that he received an offer from Tennessee.

Cole, 5-foot-10/175 lbs from Oakland, CA, is a former two-star recruit who signed with Cal Poly out of high school. The California native transferred to San Jose State ahead of the 2023 season.

This past season at San Jose State, Cole totaled 38 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions, and 13 passes defended. He had a PFF college grade of 86.2 last season , which ranked among the top 20 cornerbacks in the nation.

According to On3 , Cole is scheduled to visit Texas this weekend. He'll then visit Auburn next week. Michigan State is also in the mix for Cole.

Just because Tennessee offered doesn't mean they'll strongly pursue Cole, but it shows that the Vols at least have some interest in adding to their secondary room.
