Brent Hubbs on how Tennessee needs to play Creighton in the Sweet 16…

“Well, I think it’s going to be interesting to see how Tennessee plays Creighton’s drop coverage on the pick and roll. What I mean by that is they’re going to drop their big man back to protect the rim. Crieghton is totally fine with you taking a 15-foot jump shot. So, what’s Tennessee’s answer to that? Do they pick and roll with [Dalton] Knecht in the middle of the floor? And he gets that 15-foot jumper and he’s willing to take it consistently and makes it? Can they get to the rim and do some things there? So, I think there’s some chess match going on in terms of how you handle the way that Creighton plays defense. I think the other key in this game is Tennessee limiting offensive rebounds. When you shoot 40 threes a game, which is about what Creighton is going to average, that ball goes every direction, right? I mean it can carry long and that’s where you end up with some second chance opportunity. So, I think Tennessee, limiting Creighton’s offensive rebounds off the missed threes is going to be a key stat to watch in this game because that’s when you get yourself in trouble. You find yourself in scramble mode at that point. So, everybody’s going to have to go to the rim and rebound vertically – those long rebounds up through three-point shots.”
