Chester selected as next chief
Glynda Chester was approved to become the new police chief for Como-Pickton CISD. Trustees approved her employment at their April 15 board meeting,. Chester has been most recdently employed at the Hopkins County Sheriff ’s Office. Prior to that, she served as chief for Sulphur Springs ISD Police Department.

East Texas school district to hold campus fundraiser for kindergartener injured in utility terrain vehicle accident
YANTIS, Texas — An East Texas school district is sending prayers and love to one of its kindergartners injured in a utility terrain vehicle accident this past weekend. Yantis ISD said the school's family is coming together in support of Dalton McKeever, who is recovering from the UTV accident. He is currently undergoing medical treatment that will include several surgeries and a lengthy recovery.
