Holt County collision injures 1
(Forest City) -- One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision in Holt County early Wednesday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on Maywood Road near Missouri Highway 111 a mile-and-a-half north of Forest City around 12:15 p.m. Authorities say a 2018 GMC FedEx truck, driven by 29-year-old Luz Silva of St. Joseph, was northbound on Maywood when it crossed the center line and into the path of a 2015 GMC Sierra, driven by 33-year-old Ethan Woolsey of Forest City. The patrol says the Sierra attempted to avoid the collision and traveled off the north side of the road, but the front left of the FedEx truck struck the front left of the pickup and its towed unit. Both vehicles came to rest on their wheels.

Rock Port school building construction accelerates
(Rock Port) -- Construction crews are sprinting toward completion of an extensive building project in the Rock Port R-2 School District. One year ago this month, the district's voters approved a $6.5 million bond issue for numerous facility upgrades, including the demolition of the district's quarter-century-old dome structure and the construction of a new school facility with new classrooms and a central library for K-12 students, among other amenities. Speaking on KMA's "Morning Line" program Friday morning, Rock Port R-2 School Superintendent Dr. Rex Bollinger says progress is reported on exterior and interior work.
