Gaylord St. Mary meets unbeaten Lake Linden-Hubbell | Prediction
GAYLORD — For about four weeks, Gaylord St. Mary football has been playing with a postseason mindset, even though the 8-player Division 2 playoffs officially started on Friday, Oct. 30. Now, heading into the regional finals this weekend, the Snowbirds stand just three wins away from the school's first state title. With the gauntlet they will have to go through to reach that height, however, they may as well change that postseason mindset into a state championship mindset for each of the final three games. GSM (10-0) travels to the Upper Peninsula on Saturday, Nov. 7, to take on Lake Linden-Hubbell (10-0), another team that has had state title aspirations all season long. While this game will have major implications for who makes it to the Superior Dome on Nov. 17, it would also be just the beginning of the road for whichever team is victorious with potential matchups with Portland St. Patrick (10-0) and Mendon (10-0) looming in the final two rounds. It's win or go home, and every game from here on out is going to be a heavyweight fight. Can the Snowbirds finish things off in the final rounds? VOTE Vote for the Gaylord Herald Times Athlete
