Two firefighters injured in 57 Fire Saturday near Sharon

SHARON, Okla. (KFOR) – Two Mooreland Volunteer Fire Department firefighters were burned during Saturday’s 57 Fire near Sharon when their truck was overrun by flames.
The fire department posted an update on Facebook Sunday that stated Jared Brittain and Max Clark had been burned and transferred to Oklahoma City for treatment.
According to their post the two sustained burns when the flames overran their firetruck.
“Clark has a burn on his left arm and is expected to be released from the hospital today. Brittain has burns on both arms, head and face area that are more substantial in nature and will take time and medical treatments to heal.”

The 57 Fire burned near Sharon in Southwest Woodward County. According to the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, no inhabited homes were destroyed in the fire and it has burned 5,000 acres so far with no containment.

Agencies from all over the state came in to help out with Governor Stitt approving air support late at night.
The department posted that if anyone would like to make donations to either family they may do so by sending them to: Mooreland Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 738, Mooreland, OK, 73852.
