Wetumpka art legend Don Sawyer dies
Look anywhere in Wetumpka and there is Don Sawyer’s mark — the Hollywood Fish. Almost always on a yellow background, the fish is wearing sunglasses and grinning to the world. Come make a splash at the Back-to-School Pool Party this Saturday
Life is better by the pool, and while a pool party can’t solve the “back to school blues,” it can guarantee a splash-tastic time this Saturday at the Pratt Pool. This Saturday, July 27th is the place to be from 6-9 p.m. to celebrate summer one last time before school starts with the Back-to-School Pool Party hosted by the Prattville Parks and Recreation Department.
Sawyer laid foundation for Wetumpka’s future

He did it in his own way just like he did with everyone I talked to Friday after the news of Don’s death made its way through Wetumpka and the arts community.
