PRATTVILLE – There’s an Alabama driver’s license renewal scam going around that could cost folks 100 bucks. And their license won’t be renewed either. Autauga County Probate Judge Kim Kervin started noticing it about three weeks ago. People were coming into the office to see why the driver’s license that they renewed online hadn’t been delivered. Licenses can be renewed in person at probate offices in each of the state’s 67 counties. They can also be renewed online at the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s website.

Firefighters greet injured brother in Montgomery homecoming Wednesday
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - A seriously injured Montgomery firefighter returned home to Montgomery Wednesday afternoon after weeks in intensive care at a Birmingham hospital. Around 3:15 p.m., Capt. Donald L. Crenshaw Jr.’s flight from Birmingham to Montgomery landed at Montgomery Aviation Airport where Crenshaw was greeted with applause. The firefighter waved with bandaged hands and had a big smile on his face as his stretcher was loaded into the back of an ambulance. He is being transported home by Rescue 94 with units from his station there to welcome him home.
Passenger eludes law enforcement Prattville during foot chase
PRATTVILLE – Law enforcement officers are looking for a passenger who they say ran after a traffic stop Thursday morning in east Prattville. At about 7:30 a.m., an Alabama state trooper attempted to pull over a 1989 Chevrolet pickup, said Sgt. Jeremy Burkett, a spokesman for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The passenger bolted from the truck and ran into nearby woods, which resulted in a foot pursuit and search of the area.

MONTGOMERY POST – On Thursday, June 1, at approximately 7:26 a.m. a Trooper with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division attempted to stop a 1989 Chevrolet C2500 for a traffic violation. A passenger in the vehicle fled into the woods, which resulted in a foot pursuit and subsequent search of the area. The driver, a 16-year-old juvenile, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess Firearm, Minor in Possession of a Pistol. Law enforcement will continue to search and monitor the area for the passenger, who was not captured. The incident occurred near Interstate 65 at Cobbs Ford Road in Prattville, within Elmore County.
