MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — An electrical fire at the Minot McDonald’s by Dakota Square Mall Wednesday morning damaged a portion of the building on the drive-thru service side.

The Minot Fire Department responded to the call around 7:45 a.m. and quickly put out the small blaze.

Battalion Chief Austin Burns told KX the McDonald’s sign on the drive-thru side of the building caused a small electrical fire, damaging a portion of the building and part of the ceiling.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Electricians are looking over what went wrong with the sign.

The restaurant remains closed until further notice.
