Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves now trail the Dallas Mavericks 0-2 in the Western Conference Finals.

On Friday night, Luka Doncic and the Mavs won another closely-contested game — seriously limiting the Timberwolves' best player in the process.

Edwards finished the game with 21 points on an inefficient 5-17 shooting from the field and 2-7 shooting from behind the three-point arc. In Game 1, he scored 19 points on 6-16 shooting.

This production isn't anywhere close to what he put up in the Timberwolves' first two series.

After the game, TNT analyst Charles Barkley suggested the reason for Edwards' struggles.

“Ant is tired. He’s never been here before, he’s tired," Barkley said.

Edwards played 40 minutes in Game 1 and 41 minutes in Game 2. In addition to working for every shot on the offensive end, he's also been extremely active on the defensive side of the ball.

While Edwards could very well be tired, that's not exactly a valid excuse for subpar postseason play. Doncic, who hit the game winner on Friday night, played 41 minutes in each of the last two games.

The Timberwolves will need every bit of Edwards' energy again when they face off against the Mavericks in Game 3 on Sunday night.
