The Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival returns Thursday with over 200 films (including several with Minnesota connections) showing at venues across the Twin Cities April 11–25.

    • Here are three screenings we're looking out for this weekend:

🎀 " Sing Sing " β€” The festival's opening night film stars Colman Domingo as a man imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit who finds purpose through a theater group with other incarcerated men. It features an ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated actors who were alumni of the real-life program. Thursday at 7pm, 7:20pm

😳 " Laroy, Texas " β€” This thriller comedy follows Minnesota native Steve Zahn as a hardware store owner mistaken for a hitman who decides to play the part β€” until the real killer shows up. Friday at 7:10pm

❀️ Nextwave Youth Media Showcase β€” Celebrate the up-and-coming creatives among us at this 60-minute screening of 13 short films by Twin Cities high school students. Sunday at 2pm
