The Missing Person Squad reports a Missing Juvenile that occurred on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 5:00 pm in Hempstead and reported to police on 4/30/2024. According to Detectives, Amani Mills, 15, was last seen leaving her Hempstead residence. She is described as a female black, 5’1”, 110 lbs., brown hair and brown eyes. Her clothing description and destination is unknown.

A Long Island man was sentenced Wednesday in Queens Supreme Court for filing fraudulent paperwork to claim he fully owned a Queens Village home when his niece had actually inherited half of it. Wagner Recio, 52, of Butler Boulevard in Elmont, pleaded guilty in December 2022 to filing falsified documents the previous year in order to obtain a mortgage against the value of the Queens Village property and kept the financial proceeds for himself.

Police officers shot and killed an armed suspect during a violent struggle in a Manhattan store Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. The incident happened in MaximEyes Optical at 202 West 24th Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues in Chelsea at around 2:45 p.m., according to the NYPD.
