Patrick Beverley and the Milwaukee Bucks have apologized to ESPN reporter Malinda Adams after the veteran refused to speak to her for not subscribing to his podcast after the loss to the Indiana Pacers .

On Thursday night, the Pacers secured a 120-98 Game 6 victory over the Bucks at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to clinch a place in the Eastern Conference semi-finals. But Beverley hit the headlines for several poor reasons, twice launching a ball into the crowd in anger before his odd post-game antics.

After the game, Beverley demonstrated his disappointment with the Bucks’ elimination by lashing out at Adams and banishing her from his media scrum in the locker room because she was not subscribed to his self-titled podcast. On Friday, Adams took to social media to reveal she had received and accepted apologies from both Beverley and the Bucks.

She wrote: “I want to thank everyone for their kind words and support. I am humbled. Patrick Beverley just called me and apologized. I appreciate it and accept it. The. Bucks also reached out to apologize. I’ve been in news for over 40 years and kindness and grace always win.”

During his session of post-game interviews in the locker room, Beverley turned to Adams and asked if she was subscribed to his podcast When she confirmed she was not, Beverley responded: “You can't interview me then. No disrespect.”

Adams remained composed and appeared to accept his decision. However, as she kept her microphone close to the 35-year-old to record his answers to other questions, Beverley brushed the mic away and added: “Can you move that mic for me or just get out of the circle for me please, ma'am, if you're not subscribed to my pod.”

Beverley was slammed by a number of media members for his actions toward Adams. Brian Windhorst took to social media to write: “Veteran producer Malinda Adams happens to be one of the most respected and professional people we have at ESPN. Bev, you’re going to have to make a couple of apologies for stuff tonight.”

It was ultimately a disappointing night for Beverley, who shot 3-for-11 from the floor en route to six points, five assists, and two rebounds. TNT star Charles Barkley even called for him to be suspended by the NBA after he threw a ball into the crowd twice.

As Brook Lopez was substituted late in the game, cameras captured Beverley tossing the ball toward a woman and hitting her in the head. Once he got the ball back, Beverley threw a more powerful effort at a man sitting behind the Bucks’ bench.

While he apologized for his treatment of Adams, Beverley appeared to defend his conduct towards the fans. Re-posting a video of the incident, the guard wrote on X: “Not Fair at all. Exchanged between a fan and our ball club all night. We warned and asked for help all night. Not fair.”

He then added: “But I have to be better. And I will.”
