We might be seeing our share of rain over the next few days, starting today. Thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and into the evening, with clouds otherwise and a high of 59 degrees.

What do you find at the bottom of Lake Michigan?

The headline and the first paragraph of this story by Caitlin Looby both have me hooked.

"We know more about the surface of Mars than about the floor of Lake Michigan. But what we do know is remarkable."

And then, "Lake Michigan wasn’t always a lake. At least not the lake we know today. Thousands of years, and remnants of past lives, all lie under its surface, from ancient shorelines to a submerged forest, and from ships that plied the water to aircraft that flew over it."

And suddenly I find myself deeply invested in something that has never really crossed my mind before: The bottom of Lake Michigan.

It turns out only 15% of the bottom of the Great Lakes has been mapped in high resolution. Also, did you know the Great Lakes essentially descend from previous generations of lakes, including what we call Lake Algonquin and Lake Chippewa? The lakes themselves are only 6,000 yards old, which is pretty young as, you know, Earth stuff goes.

Strap on your scuba gear and take a deep dive with Caitlin on this lengthy look at what you'll find beneath the surface.

Concert season is just around the corner, and these are the greatest hits

My kids are pretty excited to see AJR at Summerfest (tickets for which they were gifted at Christmas), so I was curious to see where they would land on Piet Levy's list of anticipated concerts in Milwaukee.

They didn't make the list , but it actually kind of makes sense, because the Milwaukee schedule is stacked!

Jelly Roll will co-headline the Harley-Davidson festival. Alanis Morissette is coming back for '90s kids like me. Speaking of the '90s, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are also coming to the Harley celebration. Grupo Firme is coming to town, marking a huge win for followers of Latin music. Noah Kahan, SZA and T-Pain — all huge artists — are bringing their shows to Alpine Valley, Summerfest and The Rave, respectively. And as is custom, Kenny Chesney is coming to American Family Field, with Zac Brown Band, no less.

It's all here, where Piet breaks down what makes these shows so massive.
