Major League Baseball handed down some serious discipline stemming from Tuesday’s brawl between the Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers.

MLB determined that the spark for the brawl was Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta intentionally throwing at Rays outfielder Jose Siri in the sixth inning, even though the actual fight did not take place at that point. Peralta received a five-game suspension, while Brewers manager Pat Murphy was handed a two-game suspension.

The two main combatants received stiffer penalties. Brewers reliever Abner Uribe was suspended for six games over the fight, while Siri received a three-game suspension. That discipline largely came because both threw punches during the altercation .

MLB noted that the players involved all retain the right to appeal, though it is unclear if they will do so.

Siri felt he was thrown at intentionally by Peralta in the sixth inning, a contention MLB agreed with. That carried over to his plate appearance in the eighth, and is likely what sparked the fight between him and Uribe.

The Brewers wound up winning Tuesday’s game 8-2. The biggest consequence, for them, is essentially that Peralta will have to have a turn through the rotation delayed or skipped.
