‘Laughter through tears’
AZLE — Get ready to laugh and cry in style. On May 17, the Azle Arts Association’s Popcorn Players will present “Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling. This 1987 famous comedy-drama has been performed on screens and stages big and small. Grounded in true happenings, the play tells the story of the bond shared by a group of women in a tight-knit Louisiana town, and how they cope with the death of one of their own. With “Steel Magnolias,” the Azle Arts Association welcomed two new cast members to its fold, Carla Wicks and Sandy Nienaber.
