One more round of showers and thunderstorms is expected Thursday evening between 6pm and midnight, then drier weather and hot temperatures returns for the weekend. Some parts of the central, northern and eastern Concho Valley received several inches of rain from storms this morning and afternoon. Other areas missed out entirely. The forecast going into Friday calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 90 degrees. Temperatures soar this weekend with 100 to 102 degrees from Saturday through Wednesday. The next chance for thunderstorms looks to be in the middle of next week.

San Angelo Women Indicted for Stabbing Man with a Prison Shank
SAN ANGELO — Two women from San Angelo face charges after allegedly attacking a man with a knife last December, according to court documents. Shevetra Mathis, 25, and Ebony Gasca, 26, were indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon stemming from the incident. The altercation unfolded on December 26, 2023, in the 300 block of West 13th Street, leading to the death of Jermaine Johnson, who succumbed to two stab wounds at Shannon Medical Center.
