HAMDEN — Quinnipiac men’s tennis is headed to New York City to face No. 8 Columbia at the Lions’ home courts in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday. The Bobcats — donning their MAAC Champions T-shirts — gathered in the Athletic Center Conference Room in the Recreation and Wellness Center Monday at 6 p.m. for the Selection Show. Baseball Wins Three Times, Boys’ Golf Splits the Week
The Hand baseball team traveled to East Haven on April 22 and won 17-5 in six innings. Vinny Benevento had four hits, while Nick Antonetti and Ben Kuja each had three hits. Paul Calandrelli and Nick Maynard both recorded two hits and three RBI, while Sam Markovitz and David Quoka had two hits each. Tai Nuzzi had three RBI. Payton Powell earned the win on the mound.

Softball Wins a Trio, Girls’ Tennis Wins Two
The Guilford golf team hosted Daniel Hand at Madison Country Club on April 17 and won 171-183. The Grizzlies were led by Andrew Beauton who scored a 39. Guilford girls’ tennis traveled to Career Magnet on April 23 and won 7-0. Kallie Kagan won by default at No. 1 singles. Julia Castonguay won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, and Ava Scandone earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory in the third singles spot. Clara Arpie competed at No. 4 singles and won 6-0, 6-0.
