Oklahoma woman pleads guilty in hit-and-run death case

MIAMI, Okla. -- An Oklahoma woman pleads guilty to a hit-and-run that killed a Chinese citizen living in Miami.

It stems from an incident on February 5, 2022.

Miami Police say officers found a male who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle, the man was later identified Quang Xin Ye, 58, of Miami. Quang was a citizen of China residing in Miami.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later determined he was struck by Mindy McBrien, 50, of Fairland, Oklahoma. She was charged with first degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of fatality accident.

According to court documents, McBrien has now pleaded guilty to the charges. Her next court appearance is August 12, 2024.
