HOLIDAY HARDCORE: Mosh for Santa concert to rock Toys for Tots warehouse Saturday
POCATELLO — Area residents can deliver holly-jolly haymakers while dashing and thrashing the night away when Mosh for Santa returns to the local Toys for Tots warehouse Saturday. The hardcore holidays are upon the Gate City and Santa’s helpers are setting the stage with a concert filled with sensational shredding, crashing cymbals and generous gift-giving. Now in its seventh year, the annual hardcore metal and punk concert Mosh for Santa has provided $20,000 in toys and gifts through the Southeast Idaho Toys for Tots program. Last year, the event raised about $3,000. The show will run from 4-10 p.m. Saturday at the Toys for Tots warehouse, 169 Warren Ave. Admission is $20 or a new toy or book of similar value. All proceeds go to Toys for Tots to support local families in need during the holiday season. Pocatello resident Cade Walker conceptualized Mosh for Santa in 2017. The charity concert has grown into an annual event where area goths, punks, metalheads and misfits can gather and support a positive community cause. “There’s kind of a lot that goes into it,” Walker said. “Everybody deserves to have a good Christmas.
