Driver loses control, crashes into Lake Chelan

CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. - A man was seriously hurt and had to be life-flighted to an area hospital after crashing into Lake Chelan Monday evening.

It happened just after 7:30 p.m. on State Route 150.

According to Washington State Patrol, 37-year-old Erik Korbely of Colville was driving westbound on the highway east of Manson when he lost control, struck a guardrail on the eastbound side and crashed into Lake Chelan.

Korbely was life-flighted to Harborview Medial Center.

WSP confirm the cause of the crash is under investigation, and it's not known if drugs or alcohol were factors.

Charges against Korberly are under investigation.
