Third Street Family Health Services is hosting a community event with mothers in mind. The Mother's Day Craft & Resources Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at South Park at 100 Brinkerhoff Ave. in Mansfield.

The fair is free to attend and will feature homemade crafts from vendors. There will also be resources from community organizations and food trucks.

“The fair is a great opportunity to see some beautiful crafts and artwork,” said Emily Schwan, Third Street’s community outreach coordinator. “Plus, it’s a chance to pick up a unique Mother’s Day gift while supporting a worthy cause.”

Proceeds will benefit Third Street’s medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program for patients with substance use disorder. Medication-assisted treatment is the use of medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Research shows that a combination of medication and therapy can successfully treat substance use disorders

Medications used in MAT are approved by the Food and Drug Administration and MAT programs are tailored to meet each patient’s needs. Third Street Family Health Services can provide MAT to adults, pregnant women and youth.

“Substance use disorders affect people from all walks of life and all age groups and Third Street is here to support access to recovery and better health,” Schwan said.
