Demolition Nears for Condemned Building in Tampico
A demolition permit for the condemned building at 107 W. Market Street was approved at the Tampico Village Council meeting on Tuesday, April 7th. The council has been working on a legal solution for nearly a year due to the building’s deteriorating condition and threat to public health, including falling bricks and a bat colony. Built in 1900, the building was once an American Legion Hall and later housed a barbershop and photography studio. Owner Beverly Adamson purchased the building in 1998 from Earl Krantz.
