Semitrailer catches fire Sunday afternoon near Geneseo on I-80, sustains minimal damage
HENRY COUNTY, Ill. — A semitrailer caught fire Sunday afternoon along I-80 westbound near Geneseo. Officials say the incident occurred around 12:43 p.m. at mile marker 20 in Henry County. The Geneseo Fire Department, EMS personnel and Illinois State Police Troop 2 responded to the scene, according to ISP's Public Information Office.

Band room doors at KHS to be replaced
The folding doors that separate the band room from Brockman Gymnasium at Kewanee High School have been there since the school was built in the late 1950s. But now the doors — known as the “acoustic partition” — must be replaced. The Kewanee School Board Monday hired MSI contractors of Kewanee to do that job, at a cost of $139,575.
