TCU track and field boys and girls both claim 3rd in Minnesota River Conference indoor meet

Saturday morning, the Tri-City United track and field team joined the rest of the Minnesota River Conference programs in Mankato for an indoor meet. The Titans boys and girls teams both finished third with 91 and 96 points respectively, finishing just eight and three points behind Sibley East for second.

Highlights for the girls included a fourth place finish for Alexis Marcussen (8.05) in the 55 meter dash followed by a first-place finish in the 200m dash by Kaitlyn Hartwig with a time of 28.44. In the 400m dash, Carly Hartwig (1:05.22) and Yasmin Ruiz (1:07.25) finished first and third respectively.

Kaylee Gogerty earned first in the 800m run with a time of 2:45.18 before finishing fourth in the 1600m run with a time of 6:08.31. In the 55m hurdles, Kristin Siebsen finished third with a time of 10.75.

Relay team's put on a show beginning with the 4x200m relay team of Kirra Flicek, the Hartwig sisters and Jillian Houn who finished first with a time of 1:55.41. In the 4x400m relay race, Ruiz joined Guadalupe Lopez and the Hartwig sisters to finish first with a time of 4:24.95.

In the medley relay, C. Hartwig, Kelcie Weydert, Aubrie Barnett and Ruiz teamed up to finish first with a time of 4:39.40.

Field highlights began with Kaylee Harkins earning fifth with a top throw of 28 feet and 6.5 inches. In the high jump, Kristin Siebsen finished second with a top clear of 4'6" and in the pole vault, Sophia Smith posted a personal best clear of 8'6" to finish second.

In the long jump, Khloe Flicek finished fifth with a leap of 15'1" .Marcussen finished first in the triple jump with a top leap of 32'5" with Flicek finishing fourth with a mark of 29'8".

Boys highlights began in the 55m dash with Abram Chimal claiming second with a time of 7.18. In the 200m dash, Eric Borchard finished second with a time of 24.92 before he claimed fifth in the 400m run with a time of 57.37.

In the 800m run, Goi Ruei finished fifth with a time of 2:19.94 and in the 1000m run, Grant Fitterer claimed second with a time of 2:54.76.

Lucas Holicky finished fourth in the 55m hurdles before the 4x400m relay team of Rafael Balcazar, Connor Flintrop, Ruei and Borchardt claimed second with a time of 3:46.95. In the medley relay, Parker Hanson, Flintrop, Balcazar and Chimal finished fourth with a time of 4:12.88.

Eli Viskocil claimed first place in the pole vault with a top clear of 9'6" and Holicky finished third in the long jump with a top mark of 18'10.75". Holicky capped off a great day with a second-place finish in the triple jump, posting a top leap of 36'6".
