Driver accused of fleeing police, creek crash charged
The driver accused of fleeing police before crashing into a creek has been charged. Glennel Steveone Powell, 38, faces one felony count of fleeing police in a motor vehicle, misdemeanor counts of DWI, no proof of insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving after revocation in Blue Earth County Court.

A wild chase through the streets of Mankato ended with a splash Saturday evening when a man fleeing police drove his vehicle into a creek. The Department of Public Safety officers had attempted to stop the man around 7:40 p.m. near the 400 block of North 4th Street, but their routine traffic stop spun quickly out of their control. The driver bolted with the cops in hot pursuit, as reported by the City of Mankato, Minnesota Government.
