MSNBC Analyst Says First Round of ‘Wild’ Stormy Daniels Testimony Got Mixed Jury Reaction: ‘Told a Lot of Jokes and Not All of Them Landed’

Legal analyst Harry Litman reported from the Manhattan courtroom where former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial is taking place that adult film actress and trial witness Stormy Daniels may have made the jury’s heads “spin a bit” with her “wild” testimony on Tuesday.

Litman, a former U.S. Attorney, spoke with MSNBC about what he witnessed inside the courtroom after Daniels was questioned by the prosecution and a lunch break was called. Litman claimed Daniels may have gotten a mixed reaction from the jury as she was perhaps too “colorful” in her testimony.

“There was a lot to see as far as the jury. We’re talking about a very, very colorful witness who detailed kinds of events and just efforts and ways of being that I think for the jury were fairly foreign. She spoke very quickly, nervously, she told a lot of jokes and not all of them landed,” he said.

On Tuesday, Judge Juan Merchan sided with multiple objections from Trump’s defense as Daniels was found to be giving too much detail around their encounters, describing his clothing and finding products like Old Spice.

The judge at one point said Daniels was giving “unnecessary” detail, including when she detailed a sexual position she and Trump were allegedly in. Litman said he’d never seen Merchan as “irritated” as he was by the level of detail being given during the testimony. The judge previously had to threaten Trump with potential jail time after he was found in criminal contempt for a tenth time for violating a gag order.

The former president is accused of falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments made to Daniels to cover up an alleged affair. Trump has denied knowledge of the hush money payments and the affair.

Litman described the testimony as “wild” and “hyper colorful.” Daniels recalled joking at one point that she asked Trump if Hugh Hefner knew he stole his pajamas after he allegedly answered the door to a hotel suite in “silk or satin” pajamas, which Daniels said he “politely” changed after she requested it.

Litman reported that the members of the jury were mostly glued on Daniels and not paying much attention to Trump during her testimony.

Trump, he said, had a “general impassiveness” as the salacious details were thrown out.

“My general feeling is, like, wow, this is a colorful, maybe hyper colorful witness,” Litman said.
