NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 71-year-old woman was thrown to the ground by a stranger who grabbed her walker in broad daylight on Manhattan’s East Side, police said Thursday.

The NYPD released an image showing the suspect—a woman believed to be about 50 years old—who’s being sought in the April 13 assault in Midtown.

The victim was walking around 2:15 p.m. at East 59th Street and Third Avenue when her attacker came up from behind and pulled her walker, police said.

The victim fell to the ground, suffering minor injuries, according to cops. She declined further medical attention at the scene.

The suspect fled the area and was last seen headed westbound on East 59th Street, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
