After hearing from a wetlands specialist Monday night, Covington-area recreation district officials have decided to proceed with getting a land donation from Regina Coeli. Babs Pelligrini of J.V. Burkes and Associates said of the 35.83 acres Regina Coeli is donating, 19.49 are classified as wetlands. Pelligrini told the board of directors of St. Tammany Parish Recreation District No. 10 that they should avoid using the wetlands portion of the property if at all possible.
