Finalists announced in superintendent search
ROCK HALL — Three frontrunners have emerged in the Kent County Board of Education’s search for the next superintendent of schools. The search process launched in January when Dr. Karen Couch, the current superintendent, announced her plans to retire at the end of the current school year. The board hired the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE) to lead the search for Couch’s replacement. 5 on short list for nation’s top literary prize for undergrads
CHESTERTOWN — Washington College on Monday named five finalists, all from Maryland, for its Sophie Kerr Prize. This year’s prize is valued at just north of $77,000, and continues to be the nation’s largest literary award for a college student. On Saturday June 8th at Wilmer Park in Chestertown, MD we will be entertained by all day live music performed by your favorite local musicians and lawn games for all to participate in. We kick off the day with a guided kayak tour of Radcliffe Creek from 10-12 departing from the kayak launch at Wilmer Park (or Marina launch site). Bring your own kayak or rent one on site. Police arrest two in theft turned motor vehicle crash
GRASONVILLE — Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff deputies arrested a man and woman suspected of stealing $5,000 worth of merchandise from a Walgreens, ending in the pair crashing the vehicle into the Waterman’s Monument and being apprehended.
