Top seed Washington eliminated early in softball playoffs
CHESTERTOWN — Playing at home as the top seed in the Centennial Conference softball tournament did not prove to be the advantage that fans of Washington College had hoped. The Shore ladies (20-19-1) went 0-2 in the double-elimination tournament, exiting Friday after being shut out by the defending conference champions from Swarthmore, 3-0, in a losers bracket game.
Ensor, Queen Anne's reach 2A state semis
PASADENA — Junior RJ Ensor scored six goals and set up a seventh, and Riley Klepper added a hat trick Wednesday, leading Queen Anne’s County High’s girls lacrosse team to an 11-6 victory over No. 3 seed Chesapeake-Anne Arundel in a Class 2A state quarterfinal. The sixth-seeded Lions (14-2) move on to play second-seeded Stephen Decatur in a 2A state semifinal Friday at 6 p.m. at Kent Island High.
