According to a release, Jaselyn Snelson, who has been with the center for four years, received the Nursing Excellence Award, a cash award and a gift box after being peer nominated.

Snelson currently works in the neonatal intensive unit, with experience in the medical/surgical unit and mother/baby.

“Had it not been for her diligence and keen eye on her patients’ conditions, outcomes for these babies would have been much different. I am so proud of Jaselyn and the care she offers our patients,” Allison Cain, chief nursing officer at Woodland Heights Medical Center, said.

The Nursing Excellence Award is given to nurses who demonstrate nursing excellence characteristics, such as outstanding care, compassion, service and innovation, a release said.
