Lubbock VA clinic to host its first in-person Welcome Home Veterans event

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock VA Clinic announced on Thursday it will host its first in-person Welcome Home Veterans event.

The event is a celebration of service of all Lubbock area Veterans and their families whether they are enrolled in VA health care or not. The special event will feature an opening ceremony, family fun, food courtesy of United Supermarkets, music, activities, door prizes, a resource fair and more.

Dr. Rodney S. Gonzalez, Amarillo VA Health Care System Director said, “It is an honor to host this event to ‘welcome home’ our nation’s heroes and thank them for their service.” He added that this will be the first in-person Welcome Home event hosted in Lubbock.

“We could not be happier to bring our Veteran population together and celebrate their service.” Dr. Gonzalez said.

The Welcome Home Veterans event will be on Saturday May 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Exhibit Hall.
