Dodge County fatal motorcycle crash; alcohol believed to be factor
DODGE COUNTY, Wis. - A Beaver Dam man has died following a motorcycle crash in Dodge County on Sunday, April 14. The Dodge County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to Owl Road in the Town of Calamus around 1:15 a.m. after an individual who lives in the area found the motorcycle and the operator in a field and called 911.

Knights of Columbus to collect for Special Olympics
Knights of Columbus members will again collect donations during the annual Tootsie Roll Drive on May 10-11. Members will be collecting donations from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 10 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11 at the intersection of Elm Street and South Boulevard near Town & Country as well as the intersection of Grant Avenue and South Boulevard near Pizza Hut, the intersection of Darlington Avenue and East Market Street near Dollar General and the entrance to Walmart.

This week's column is chock-full of interesting experiences. Carsyn and Conner Thiede are the 13- and 11-year-old children of Tyler and Patsy Thiede of Mayville, Wisconsin. I met the family through my good friend Rod Bensley. The Thiede family and I have become good friends; we do deer and turkey hunts together in the Burnett, Wisconsin, area at what is called the Foul Mouth Hunt Club. Each hunt I switch kids whom I mentor.

Fort Atkinson’s baseball team fell 10-2 to Watertown, bouncing back to win 12-9 in the second game, in a Badger Large doubleheader at Jones Park on Saturday.
