    This week's nominees for Courier Journal girls athlete of the week continued to shine on softball diamonds and lacrosse fields throughout the Louisville area.

    Voting is underway for The Courier Journal's girls athlete of the week. The poll closes at 6 p.m. Thursday, and the winner will be announced Friday.

    Cameron Breier, Manual, lacrosse

    Manual senior Cameron Breier scored eight goals and handed out six assists to help Manual beat Mercy.

    Ava Gish, Portland Christian, softball

    Portland Christian sophomore Ava Gish had seven hits and five RBIs in games against Beth Haven, Presentation and Christian Educational Consortium.

    Bridgette Haraden, Collegiate, lacrosse

    Collegiate senior Bridgette Haraden had six goals and one assist against Cooper.

    Maya Merrill, Mercy, softball

    Mercy senior Maya Merrill struck out 31 batters in games against Fern Creek, Atherton and Boyle County. She also earned the save against Fern Creek.

    Lauren Satterly, Assumption, softball

    Assumption junior Lauren Satterly recorded six hits, including two home runs, six RBIs and two stolen bases to lead the Rockets to wins over Eastern, Male and Jeffersonville (Indiana).
